Many students are missing the former teachers they grew strong bonds with. Students say going through school without their support system is difficult. To give some closure to the students, three former teachers answered their most asked questions. 

Mr. Wise, former history teacher, is working at East Grand Rapids High School. He is continuing to teach AP World History and Economics. He says that his new school is a lot like CC but with different policies and procedures. He added, “I start school at 7:40 AM (yuck!) and I get a free lunch hour! (awesome!).” At EGR he sees all of his classes everyday, unlike CC where it’s every other day. He is in the same district as his children, which makes his day smoother. He said, “I miss the staff and students. CC has a great community of people!” 

Coach Nelson, former Weight Training teacher and Football coach, is now working at East Kentwood High School. He is teaching Weight Training and Advanced Physical Education. He said, “My job is fun! It’s very busy. [EK] is the largest high school in Michigan so the classes are big.” He works in the 10-12 building and is at school from 7 AM until 2 PM. He teaches five classes and then is in the weight room for another hour before going home. He is building up a new Strength and Conditioning program for his students. He says, “I do miss the students and staff at CC that I had developed close relationships with, it’s difficult to not connect with those people again.” 

Mrs. Beck, former Spanish teacher, is now a stay at home mom with her newborn son! Her day consists of play time, hugs, cuddles, loving her baby and trying to keep up with his energy. She said, “I miss the CC community, along with my students, Coram Deo, and the LSU club!” On the other hand, she is very happy to be seeing all of her baby’s milestones and says it’s a wonderful change of pace.
