Fierce House Competitions: Expect Tight Scores This Upcoming Quarter

With big upcoming point opportunities in the second quarter and a tight spot for first place, the houses are in fierce competition. Seniors crave a winning house cup for their last year, and others want to continue a house legacy. Let’s see how the recent scores have been and what are house leaders think.

Troy Harvey, Kolbe House leader, proudly states, “Kolbe has been in first place all year and will continue to do so.” Kolbe has 103 points. Kolbe has done extremely well with attendance competitions, service hours, and potentially Honor Roll. Their one downside Harvey informs, “Kolbe tends to lead the school in detentions, so that is always a massive potential for improvement.” Their plans moving forward are continuing to do the little things well and start preparing for lip sync.

Romero house is catching up to Kolbe with 101 points. Josh Aldrich, Romero house leader, claims that thanksgiving drive will be a big shift for Romero. He has great positivity for this year. Aldrich proudly states, “the enthusiasm has been way up overall again this year. We have a strong leadership team and a strong senior class.” Aldrich also agrees that the competition with Kolbe is strong, and they’re excited to fight back.

Casey house takes third place with 96 points. Casey’s student leaders say in order to improve their score, they aim to improve on “maintaining energy and working together during competitions.” Casey house says they’ve done well in attendance competitions and encouraging engagement throughout the year. Finally, Casey says their aim is “to keep up engagement for competitions and cut down on detentions, continue service in the community, and continue to keep our grades up.”

Teresa house is in fourth place with 92 points. Jaymie Perry, house leader, says, “Teresa needs to do a better job of everyone showing up at house attendance competitions. The presence of only one or two people makes a big difference.” Perry says they did a good job in Mario Kart. She also says the goal moving forward is “to focus on the Thanksgiving drive and serving the wider CC community with Teresa Coffee this winter.”
