Two Sports, One Senior: Noah Zainea Does it All

Playing one high school sport takes hard work, but senior Noah Zainea takes on the challenge of playing both football and soccer in the same season.

On the football field, Noah plays kicker, a position that requires focus, accuracy, and confidence. On the soccer field, he plays winger, where he uses his speed, footwork, and endurance to help his team attack.

Noah has to manage practices, games, and schoolwork while giving his best to both teams. Football and soccer require different skills, but both teach teamwork, discipline, and determination. Noah says,“I text Todd Kolster (his football coach) Sunday night and tell him my schedule for when I’ll be at practice and what days games are. I’ll text Coach Dublis (boys soccer coach) and let him know if I won’t be there.” Noah says. “I’ll go to soccer first and then go to the scheduled time I texted TK about. After practice I’ll go home, eat, shower and then get my homework done and after that’s all done, I will go to bed. Then the cycle repeats.”

As a senior, Noah is making the most of his final year of high school sports. Playing two sports in one season shows his passion for athletics and his willingness to take on a challenge.

Finally Noah is faced with the question of “Do you think others can manage time like you do?”, and he replies by saying “Yea if they manage their time well”. Noah believes students should stay focused, and make time for both their responsibilities and their goals.
