The Governor Sues Mr. Harvey

Why is it that cats get mad so easily? One moment they demand attention like royalty, and the next they look at you like you’ve personally ruined their entire existence.

No one understands this better than Mr. Harvey, the proud owner of a sassy,  fluffy, and extremely opinionated cat named The Governor.

But recently, The Governor has gotten a bit overweight. He could no longer fit through his favorite chair gap. Mr. Harvey was confused. “I feed him twice a day,” he said, “and just a small snack at noon.” Suspicious, he set up a camera near the food bowl. That same day, during his lunch break, Mr. Harvey opened the camera app on his phone and nearly dropped it.

There, on the screen, was The Governor. Dragging an entire bag of cat food.

Then he bit open the bag like a tiny, furry criminal mastermind. He proceeded to eat directly from it like he had been planning this for years. Then just for fun he knocked over the snack container and helped himself. That night, Mr. Harvey hid the food in a high cabinet. The next morning, The Governor had somehow opened it. Mr. Harvey tried again by hiding it in a higher shelf. But The Governor would climb, so he hid it behind a door and somehow The Governor learned how doors worked.

After a full week Mr. Harvey made a decision, he knew The Governor wouldn’t like it, but it had to be done. “Governor,” he said firmly, “you are going on a diet.” The Governor blinked slowly. This was not an agreement. This was a threat.

The new meal plan was tragic. In the morning he gets one scoop of food with vegetables. The snacks were fruit. Dinner was a small portion of wet food with vegetables again. Whenever The Governor demanded snacks, Mr. Harvey refused. The Governor responded by dramatically hissing and knocking things off tables. One of his favorites were chewing plants out of pure revenge and sleeping exactly when Mr. Harvey got home, so he wouldn’t have to look at him.

Weeks passed, The Governor ran around more playing with his new toys. That in fact he got by himself, online using Mr. Harvey’s credit card.

In just a months time, he got healthier; even lost some weight. But in his mind? This was injustice. This was betrayal. This.…was a lawsuit. The Governor had filed against Mr. Harvey in a class action lawsuit!

Mr. Harvey is out of school from April 3rd-12th because he has been summoned to court due to the lawsuit filed against him by The Governor. Catholic Central students are still worried about what is going to happen once Mr. Harvey  gets back home with The Governor. Will he rebel? Is Mr. Harvey truly ever safe now?

Happy April Fools!
