Success on the varsity football team requires a lot of strategy, execution, and trust of teammates. Fortunately for the Cougars, they were very successful thanks to two offensive players: quarterback Odin Spencer who is a junior wearing number 2 and running back Jaxon Mileskiewicz who is a freshman wearing number 12.
For Odin Spencer, a veteran player who has been in football since third grade, this spotlight is a direct reflection of everything happening around him. He said his success is entirely rooted in “his teammates who consistently put him in a great position to look good and make good plays
Jaxon Mileskiewicz has a team first mentality. As an underclassman, securing a spot on the varsity team is a big step forward. He said he is “very blessed to receive this opportunity and to be honored as a freshmen.” He immediately pointed out that every success is a “whole team effort” and never goes to just one person.
Football runs deep for both athletes even though their journeys started differently. Jaxon got his start in flag football when he was younger, whereas Odin drew his inspiration from a personal source. “My biggest influence as a football player was my dad, because he played football too,” Odin added.
